Questions and answers

How courses, access, certificates, payment and refunds work.

How do EMFAD courses work?

Every course is a set of written lessons you study at your own pace. Each lesson ends with a practical exercise to do straight away and a short list of key points. Each module ends with a quiz, and the course ends with a final project that pulls everything together. When you finish, you receive a certificate of completion from EMFAD Courses.

Are there videos or live classes?

No. EMFAD courses are written, self-paced lessons with practical exercises. There are no videos, no live classes and no fixed timetable, so you can study on any device, on a slow connection and whenever suits you.

Can I read a lesson before I buy?

Yes. The first lesson of every available course is free to read without an account. Open any course page and choose Read the first lesson free.

How long is a course?

Each course page shows an estimate such as about 8 hours. We calculate it from the real lessons: reading time at 200 words a minute, plus 15 minutes for each exercise, 10 minutes for each module quiz and an hour for the final project, rounded to the nearest hour.

When does my access start, and for how long?

Your access starts as soon as your payment is confirmed. We email you a sign-in link within minutes. Single courses and learning paths come with lifetime access. EMFAD All Access and EMFAD for Teams last 12 months from the day access starts.

How do I sign in?

There is no password to remember. Enter the email address you used to order on the sign in page and we email you a one-time sign-in link that works for 30 minutes.

How do I earn the certificate?

Complete every lesson and pass every module quiz with a score of 70% or more. You can retake a quiz as many times as you need. Your certificate shows your name, the course title, the completion date and a unique code that anyone can check on our certificate verification page.

Is the certificate an accredited qualification?

No. It is a certificate of completion from EMFAD Courses. It shows that you completed the course and passed its quizzes. It is not issued by, or accredited with, any university, examination body or professional institute.

What does "In development" mean?

We list every course we are preparing so you can see what is coming. A course marked In development has no price and cannot be bought yet. Leave your email on its page and we will tell you when it opens.

How do I pay?

Card payment is being set up with our bank. After you place your order we email you payment instructions within one working day; your access starts as soon as payment is confirmed. All prices are in US dollars and include all taxes where applicable.

What is EMFAD All Access?

One payment of USD 199 gives you 12 months of access to every available course, and to every course we add during those 12 months.

How does EMFAD for Teams work?

You buy a number of seats for 12 months (5 seats USD 899, 10 seats USD 1,690, 25 seats USD 3,990, 50 seats USD 6,990, 100 seats USD 9,990). Each seat is for one named learner, who gets All Access with their own sign-in. The person who places the order is the team admin and receives a progress report by email every month. For more than 100 seats or to pay by invoice, use the enquiry form on the Teams page.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. You get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of purchase and have completed less than 30% of the course. After that, we refund only if a course is faulty or not as described. Read the full refund and cancellation policy.

What do I need to take a course?

A phone, tablet or computer with a modern web browser and an internet connection. Some courses use extra software; each course page lists its requirements before you buy.
