Privacy and cookies

Emfad Enterprise Limited, a company incorporated in Kenya, trading as EMFAD Courses is responsible for the personal data described here. We follow the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya.
What we collect
- Orders: your name, email address, phone number, country and, for Teams, your organisation name and the email addresses of your learners.
- Learning records: the lessons you complete, your quiz scores, your project confirmation and certificates issued.
- Messages: what you send us through our forms or by email.
- Technical data: the IP address of requests to our order and sign-in pages, kept to prevent abuse.
We do not see or store your full card number. Card payments are handled on a secure PCI-DSS compliant payment page.
Why we use it
- To process your order and payment and to give you access (performance of our contract with you).
- To issue and verify certificates. The verification page shows only the learner's name, the course and the completion date.
- To send Teams admins a monthly progress report for their learners.
- To keep accounting records (legal obligation) and protect our service from fraud (legitimate interest).
We do not sell your data and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Our processors: our web hosting provider, our email provider and our payment processor. We also share data with our professional advisers or authorities when the law requires it. Card data is never stored by EMFAD Courses: it is entered only on a secure PCI-DSS compliant payment page.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Learning records and certificates for as long as you have access, and certificate records afterwards so that certificates can still be verified. Messages for up to two years.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only what the site needs to work. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to info@emfadcourses.com. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
