Command the Linux terminal. Master the file system, permissions, processes, and shell scripting for server administration.
What you will learn
- Navigate the Linux filesystem and manage files, users, groups and permissions safely from the shell
- Install, update and remove software with apt or dnf and control services with systemctl
- Add and mount storage, read logs with journalctl and follow a structured troubleshooting method
- Configure networking, key-based SSH and a default-deny firewall with ufw or firewalld
- Automate routine tasks with Bash scripts and cron, including backups you have proven by restore drills
- Build and document a secure nginx web server that survives a reboot and can be rebuilt from your notes

Requirements
- A computer able to run a Linux virtual machine or WSL, or access to a small cloud server you can practise on
